Provides and coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership when working with other health team members to establish and maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates in unit-based shared leadership activities that improve the quality of care provided to patients and enhance the work environment.

Education:
| Graduate of accredited nursing program | BSN degree |
Experience:
| 3-5 Years Hospital Clinical Experience Preferred |

License(s)/Certification(s):
| Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa or be licensed in a compact (Nursing) state. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. CPI certification within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within 30 days from date of hire. Advanced Coronary Life Support (ACLS) certification or obtain within 6 months from hire. Unit specific additional functions will be addressed in the competency checklist specific to the assigned unit. Additional certifications and requirements are unit based. Must obtain and maintain NIHSS education within 90 days of hire and maintain every 2 years thereafter. Completion of 8 hours of Stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually. Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. | Must be CPI/MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviors) certified within the first 6 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment (renewal every 2 years).
