Cardiac Sonographer/Echo Tech - Pierce Street Cardiology

Sioux City, Iowa

Flexible Shifts: Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30 OR 7:30-4:00, w/some on-call hours

Responsibilities

Join our esteemed Cardiology Clinic as a Cardiac Sonographer/Echo Technician, where you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic services to our patients. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional who is proficient in echocardiography techniques and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

  1. Perform echocardiograms, including 2D, Doppler, and stress echocardiography, according to established protocols and physician orders.
  2. Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  3. Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality of images.
  4. Assist cardiologists in interpreting test results and providing preliminary findings for patient evaluation.
  5. Document procedures, patient information, and test results accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and follow-up as needed.
  7. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited cardiac sonography program.
  • Vascular training and experience secondary.
  • Current registry in either cardiac and/or vascular sonography through the ARDMS/CCI.
  • BLS & Mandatory Reporter.
  • Proficiency in performing 2D, Doppler, and stress echocardiograms.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
