UnityPoint-St Luke's Foundation

Full-Time Days

M-F 8am-4:30pm

The Associate Director of Development & Grants is responsible for building relationships and securing funding for the St. Luke's Foundation through grant writing, managing a portfolio, and leading the employee giving, grateful patient, and Siouxland business gifts campaigns. Additionally, the Associate Director of Development & Grants will assist in creating fundraising plans, executing special events, maintaining and securing donor relationships, and advancing the UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's mission.

Responsibilities

Grant Writing

  • Research grant opportunities, from government and non-government agencies, that support health care programs, departments, education, and technology that align with St. Luke's mission and prioritized target areas.
  • Write and submit grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
  • Ensures quality, accuracy, and completeness of all submitted grant proposals (well researched, well-written, well-documented, with a well-developed budget).
  • Submit final reports with strict adherence to each funder's unique requirements, including deadlines, proposal and budget formats and all mandatory attachments.
  • Develops and maintains a master file of pending, existing, and past grants and contracts.

Relationship Building & Fundraising

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of 75 prospects, using all aspects of the gift cycle (identify, qualify, engage, and personally solicit), to raise funds to support the St. Luke's Foundation.
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis and interpret statistical data to effectively monitor progress, forecast strategies, and develop programs that will maximize giving.
  • In coordination with the President of the St. Luke's Foundation, develop a pipeline of major gift prospects from your assigned portfolio.
  • Develop and oversee a strategy to improve donor acquisition, renewal, and pledge fulfillment.
  • Manage multi-channel (mail, phone, email, face-to-face) mass solicitation strategies to increase giving and participation.
  • Maintains accurate documentation on donor management and gift potential.
  • Assist in developing budgets and goals in coordination with St. Luke's Foundation team.
  • Plan, organize, and execute a Siouxland Business Gifts Campaign.
  • In partnership with the Foundation President, create and execute a Grateful Patient Program.

Employee Giving Campaign

  • Manage annual employee giving campaign. This includes generating awareness, executing internal marketing, establishing goals, and overseeing campaign logistics.

Administration

  • Field phone calls and inquiries regarding the St. Luke's Foundation.
  • Track fundraising campaign data for Siouxland Business Gifts Campaign and Grateful Patient Program.
  • Support Foundation President in any development and fundraising activities.
  • Assist in all other duties as assigned.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria

  • Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

Demonstrated success in grant writing, fundraising, direct mail and/or event planning.

License(s)/Certification(s):

Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Other:

* Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

* Work may occasionally require travel to partners and donors. May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle.
