Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking an Accounting Intern to join our Accounting Team for our Sioux Center, IA Omaha, NE or Sioux Falls, SD office. The Accounting Intern will be responsible for assisting the accounting team with their day-to-day tasks. Interstates seeks ambitious, innovative individuals with the ability to grow and maintain value-added relationships with our team and external customers. This internship is 40 hours a week in the summer and 10-15 hours a week in the fall.

• Assists with project accounting and accounts payable functions
• Provides support for accounts payable coding and entry
• Assists the accounting team with various projects
• May also provide support for payroll team as needed
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting or other related business degree.
• Or possess some accounting experience

Must Be Proficient in: (if applicable)

• Communication Skills: must possess great communication (verbal, written, listening) and teamwork skills.
• Mathematical Skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
• Reasoning Ability: ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Other Skills/Abilities: this position requires a commitment to quality, customer service and professionalism. Should possess advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Should also possess strong organizational and analytical skills.

Travel: This position can be located in our Sioux Center, IA Omaha, NE or Sioux Falls, SD office. No travel is required for this position.
